2024
PotatoLink attended the 2024 World Potato Congress (WPC) in Adelaide, SA and connected with local industry members, international potato experts and growers. In addition to the PotatoLink stand, Regenerative Potato Production panel session, Hort Innovation R&D Forum, the PotatoLink team also presented a poster showcasing the projects extension and communication strategy and its' engagement with growers to enhance soil health, featuring a grower from Queensland. PotatoLink held a research and development forum in Adelaide on 5 June 2023. The seven speakers covered a range of topics including diseases, irrigation, monitoring technology and more. Below are recordings of the presentations given on the day.
2022
Powdery scab is a devastating pathogen affecting potato growers of Australia causing annual losses estimated to top $13.4 million annually. In issue 07 of PotatoLink magazine, Prof Calum Wilson from Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture reports on his 3-year project — Mechanisms and manipulation or resistance to powdery scab in potato roots.
As part of the 2022 AuSPICA conference in Ballarat, PotatoLink held a research and development forum. It was comprised of Hort Innovation funded projects that are currently running or had just recently been completed.
