PotatoLink Project Poster at the 2024 World Potato Congress (2024)

The PotatoLink project explores a holistic approach to soil health management, encompassing soil physical, chemical, and biological properties, and the influence of various management practices on these properties. The main approach has been to share comprehensive, clear, practical, and relevant information that is applicable to the diversity of Australian growing regions and considers the whole farming system.

The strength of the relationship between the project and industry has encouraged the openness and flow of ongoing feedback on extension needs and emerging industry challenges and opportunities. The project recognises the diversity of grower and agronomist learning styles, and their knowledge and skill levels, so has adopted a variety of educational resources, interactive in-field and online events, field demonstrations and the space for peer-to-peer learning. Offering a combination of these communication and extension approaches has enabled the project to meet the needs of the target audience, and drive engagement.

The PotatoLink project poster presented at the 2024 World Potato Congress (WPC) summarises the impact of diverse communication and extension methods in empowering growers and agronomists with practical knowledge and skills to bolster soil health in potato production systems.
