Australian Potato Integrated Disease Management Program
Factsheet developed by RMCG, the University of Western Australia and University of Western Sydney for the project “An integrated disease management program for the Australian Potato Industry (PT23002)” with funds from the Fresh Potato and Processing Potato Levy Funds.
The team led by Professor Brajesh Singh is:
Building on previous research which aims to better understand soil ecosystems to enable quantification of disease risk and soil health at the farm scale.
Investigating the disease-suppression properties of beneficial microbes and other organic amendments, enabling the identification of new plant protection tools for the potato industry.
Assessing how management practices (e.g. crop rotation, irrigation or use of fertilisers) can be improved to reduce the risk of disease outbreaks.
