How can cover crops be used to improve soil health and crop quality?

Join cover cropping specialist Dr Kelvin Montagu and growers Andrew Falcinella and Jake Ryan for a field walk.

 They will explore the role of cover crops in

  • Improving soil structure

  • Building soil organic matter

  • Managing soil-borne disease and weeds

  • Reducing erosion and nutrient loss

  • Adding nitrogen

 They will also discuss how strip-tillage can be used to maintain soil health. Other talking points include the use of biofumigants and the PREDICTA Pt testing service to identify which soil-borne pathogens pose a risk at the site.

 A BBQ dinner will be provided at the end of the event.
