Bonnie Dawson

Bonnie, based in Gippsland, is an extension professional who has been involved in Australia’s vegetable industry for the past six years.  Previously the Gippsland RDO for VegNET (national vegetable extension project), she has since worked on sustainable irrigation projects with potato and tree nut growers, as well as the dairy industry.

Bonnie also worked with the vegetable industry to deliver award-winning field days (EGVID 2020 and VicVID 2023), as well as the International Spinach Conference in Melbourne.

Bonnie started her career in health promotion, working towards healthier food systems, and later decided to return to her agricultural roots, completing a Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Science at the University of Melbourne. 

Today, Bonnie combines her experience in health and agriculture with her strong project management and engagement skills to strengthen rural communities — economically, socially, and environmentally.
