Potato Pysllid - Whiteny Cranshaw

Report published by Hort Innovation.

The tomato/potato psyllid (Bactericera cockerelli) was first detected in WA in 2017. Fears they were infected with the devastating solanaceous crop disease, Zebra chip disease, were fortunately quelled as none were found to be infected with the bacterium causing the disease. However this has prompted a strong monitoring campaign of psyllids in the eastern states of Australia. This 2019 report covers the different psyllid populations found and the levels of psyllid predators present.
