PREDICTA Pt Training and Accreditation Course - Perth

The South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) will be holding a training course on PREDICTA Pt.

PREDICTA Pt is a DNA-based soil and seed peel testing service that helps potato growers identify the soil-borne pathogens that pose a risk to their crops.

The workshop will cover information on accessing the testing service, soil and peel sampling, and interpretation of DNA test results for each of the pathogens. Participants are provided with a manual (available in printed and e-format) that covers the information presented, and a soil corer for PREDICTA Pt sampling.

Time: 10:00 am – 4:30 pm

Cost: $385 plus GST – to be invoiced

Lunch and afternoon tea provided

Details: The course will cover the strategies and processes to sample paddocks, along with the interpretation of PREDICTA Pt results. For each pathogen included in the PREDICTA Pt service, the following will be provided:

· Information on symptoms and basic biology

· The importance of inoculum factors conducive to disease

· An overview of possible management strategies.

Participants will be provided with a manual that covers the information presented and a soil corer for PREDICTA Pt sampling. There is a fee for the course.
