Gordon Rogers from Applied Horticultural Research will provide an update on the Potatolink project and an outline of the planned events and deliverables for the remainder of the year.

With input costs at the forefront of everyone’s minds, improving input efficiencies remains a high priority for growers, particularly with fertilisers.

• Donna Lucas from RM Consulting Group will present on nitrogen use efficiency, sharing the findings of her team’s work in potatoes. Donna will explore how understanding the crop’s nitrogen use efficiency can support decision making on nitrogen fertiliser application, to get the best bang for your buck.

• Bruce Scott from Campbells fertilisers will continue the discussion on nutrient management, outlining how soil tests and other crop monitoring tools can be best utilised during development of a fertiliser program.

Jenny Ekman from Applied Horticultural Research will also provide an overview of the recent potato grower tour to the World Potato Congress in Ireland.
